So where did Scott-Elliott get all this? Not from archaeology. Not from historical documents. Scott-Elliott's version of Atlantis contained a sinister element that he probably didn't fully reckon with. He argued that the survivors of Atlantis — the people who fled east and west as the continent sank — eventually became the Aryan race, the most advanced civilization on Earth. This wasn't an offhand comment. It was central to his thesis about why certain civilizations appeared more "advanced" than others.
